Thanks Marc.

It would be nice to have a crystal ball wouldn't it? However, I think we can all see whats ahead. You're right... get on board now or suffer the costs being amplified and competitive advantages reduced.

Its an exciting time for those who embrace change and scary for others who don't know how to adapt. I'm like you... I say bring it on.

Thanks for your input.

Could not agree more!!!
Online is quick, functional and useful...but at times lacks personality!!!
Guess what....in Retail channels we have the ability to add the Personality within the experience...why not expand that with a simple and great online presence and image....
Just finished a breakfast seminar where MYOB CEO Tim Reed spoke.....underlying and undisputed facts are that internet purchasing experience and frequency will continue to grow, which will challenge traditional sales channels....all possible with the increasing proliferation of SmartPhones and Internet....the take home being we may aswell get on board, if we don't we will see a greater divide occur.

Keep up the stellar work Trent....we are fans here at ABnote!

Hi David,

The short answer is... do more of what works, not less.

To elaborate on that, I recommend utilizing a number of channels to market. Relying on one single pipe or lead source can be limiting. Particularly when market forces change. I also recommend salespeople create more face time for (the right) customers and prospects. If cold calling in person is still relevant to you then at the very least get really creative with it and has some fun or it’s a waste of time and resources for everyone concerned.

Unfortunately "networking" events usually attract a disproportionate number or sellers to buyers. More people go to these types of events with their business cards extended rather than ears open. There are many valuable events you can attend, but the best approach is to choose them wisely and always come from a place of contribution rather than selling.

A new business strategy is critical to the success of any business, and there's no one size fits all. Spending time defining what’s currently working and then refining it to keep it relevant is a smart place to start.

I hope this helps.

Thanks for your input.

Interesting observation on 'cold calling; ..do you also mean cold calling face to face is also obsolete? If so, then what would your advice be on reaching out /prospecting for new business? Surely not the old 'networking' idea??
I look forward to your reply / comments. Thanks.

Hi Mathew,

I advocate people that promote respect, love and kindness. What I won’t condone is people preying on the hearts and minds of others. From what I've seen and read AJ strikes me as a predator or totally delusional. Either way, his best interests mislead and manipulate people.

In saying that, I am eager to learn more and be proven wrong.

I appreciate you reading my blog and taking the time to offer your feedback.

If you know of him ever being in Melbourne please let me know, I'm eager to see him speak in person.

All the best for now.

Hey mate,

I've been following AJ and Mary's teachings for about 6 months.

I honestly believe that, with the exception of profiting, AJ's "god's way of love" Organisation actually fits completely with the second set of 12 steps. I realise his claim is completely audacious, but before writing him off as a quack, on the basis of what you watched on a current affair, perhaps you may wish to investigate something for yourself.
What exactly has the guy done to affront you to a point where it's ok for you to dispense with respect, love, and kindness and criticise him from a position of being uninformed, and furthermore with an intention of engaging with your readers and promoting yourself?

Hey Trent, good analogy - without the perfect hook and bait you never get a fish interested in the first place. This will give you best bang for your buck.

Good tips Trent. Especially point number 3. Its extremely important to call or meet "the big fish" at the right time, since these are usually hunted by other salespeople all the time. If you are the 10th one to call them during one day, chances are you won't catch anything...
